FUEL: Unleaded petrol, outboard mix and diesel fuel are all available in additional to a comprehensive range of Valvoline products. We also supply FREE "Flashlube" upper cylinder lubricant with fuel purchases for motors requiring Super (LRP).

Our fuel wharf has accommodated vessels in excess of 60 foot and has a mean tidal depth of 3.5 metres.

Pulling up to a wharf is a very daunting thought for many boat owners, however with easy access and the knowledge that we will always be there to help you, you should feel confident every time you dock. We have recently installed new front poles, pontoon and pylon fender strips for your vessels protection and also supply absorbent wipes for any accidental fuel drips.

Our fuel storage tanks are located well away from the water (infact, 80+ stairs up in the carpark) and this combined with a high turnover, constant testing and new triple filtered fuel lines ensure a quality product at all times.

The tanks and content have been independantly tested for water content and contaminents. After the initial test the consultant insisted on taking additional samples as they had not seen such clean samples in the area. If you hear a rumour (as there always are on the water) please call, tell us where you heard it, and we will provide you with a copy of the report.

We have swing moorings for vessels to 45 foot+ and provide a complementary tender service (regardless of number of return trips) during business hours 7 days a week.

Mooring customers enjoy 24-hour access and dinghies are provided for any after hours boating requirements.

We conduct a quarterly maintainence program on all moorings ensuring they are kept in the best condition possible. This combined with an on-site tennant provides you with peace of mind and extra security for your vessel. During BoM issued "Storm Warnings" we will usually stay onsite to ensure that extra little peace of mind for both the boat owner .. and ourselves.

SLIPWAY:

STOP PRESS: MAY 2007 - We are one of the first slipways in the Sutherland Shire to be environmentally approved by Sutherland Shire Council/EPA (Dept. of Land & Conservation). Our slipway water recycling & filtration system now allows the complete collection of all antifoul tailings and full containment and recycling of all water used in the slipway.

Although only accommodating vessels to 11 foot beam* on our new slipway cradle, we provide a range of slipway services including antifouling and detailing at very competitive rates. We have relationships with professionals in all marine trades should you require specialised services for your vessel (e.g. Mechanical, electrical, shipwright etc.).

When considering an antifoul and how to reduce costs, please weigh up the guaranteed 2 coat finish with top of the line paint, compared to either yourself or others doing it. Our paint is not thinned out and your vessel will not put back in the water on the same day. If you sound shocked that we say it may take three days, consider that most quality paint manufacturers recommend the first application be made after scraping and water blasting (1 hour min?) on a completely dry hull (2 hours?), then left a minimum 6 hours before recoat and another 8 hours before immersion (all in one day?). We do scrape the hull, we do take extreme care, and infact sometimes, do not use the water blaster at all on some hulls/paint to avoid potential damage. Although all work/action is firstly approved by the customer, any discrepancies or variations to any work are confirmed via telephone and digital photography (if required) prior to work proceeding.

Our slip is also available for pre-purchase inspections and insurance surveys at a reduced rate. As we have no specific allegience to any particular individual or company we are happy to provide customers with a list of surveyors to ensure the best pricing and/or result for the customer.

BROKERAGE: Our brokerage service has proven itself in the last 18 months. As a founding member of the BIA Marine Brokers Association and seeing an opportunity for quality vessels in the 10K - 100K range we have had an outstanding sucess in placing not only first boat owners, however experienced boaters in quality vessels at realistic prices. As so many brokers will try to steer you from a $60,000 used boat into a $120,000 new vessel, we are pleased to advise we are not a new boat agency for any brand, nor do we even carry new boat listings, as a result we will not try and put you into the drivers seat of such.  

Buying or selling, our brokerage rates are amongst the cheapest in Southern Sydney. If you are buying and our listings do not meet your requirements we will happily take your details and advise if something that suits comes along.

Even if you elect not to use our brokerage service, we highly recommend that you only deal with accredited members of the BIA Marine Brokers Association. 

In addition to being a member of the BIA Marine Brokers Association, Attwells Boatshed is a licenced NSW Police second hand dealer which all brokers MUST now be. Please check the credentials of who you are dealing with as large fines apply to both the broker and buyer if a transaction is completed without being processed via the "NSW Police Weblink System".

HIRE BOATS: (Waterways Licence HD0006)     As featured on "Sydney Weekender"

Only 35 minutes drive from the Sydney CBD or an easy 45 minute drive from Wollongong, our location offers an ideal place from which to explore Sydney's southern most waterway (and arguably it's most pristine), Port Hacking.

Ideal for fishing adventures, inspecting waterfront real estate or simply exploring "The Hacking" our 15 foot aluminium runabouts have a capacity of 6 adults, whilst our brand new 14.5 foot "tinnies" have a capacity of 4. All are powered by late model Mercury outboards and you do not require a boat licence. All of the boats in our fleet have canopies offering some protection from the elements and all are equipped with rod holders and bait boards. All safety gear is supplied and prior to your departure we will provide instruction on operation and advise what limitations there are on your travels.

When you hire our boats you are not locked into the usual "Half Day" or "Full Day" rates. We operate off an hourly rate (Minimum $50 for up to 2 hours) and then charge by the hour ($10 per hour). Our hiring fee also includes the cost of your fuel, so there are no hidden extras when you get back.

We operate a frequent users scheme and are always willing to negotiate rates for multiple bookings for fishing clubs, social groups etc.

Hire boats are available 7 days a week, however it is advisable to call in advance to check on availability. Bookings are recommended on weekends and during school holidays.

Hire boats are available (May - August) from 8.30am until 4.00pm Monday to Friday and from 8.00am until 4.30pm on weekends and public holidays.

PLEASE NOTE:  Spearfishing and crab traps are not allowed within Port Hacking.

FISHING TACKLE: We carry a range of fishing gear to suit Port Hacking and beyond, from hooks, sinkers, lures, floats, and handlines to fully matched rod and reel combos at extremely competitive prices. We have asked our customers what they want, and feel confident that our range will surprise.

Our bait selection includes prawns, pilchards (packs and blocks), chicken gut, worms, whitebait, pipis, mullet, tuna fillets etc. 

We are the only outlet for NSW Recreational Fishing Licences on Port Hacking and also offer a selection of NSW Fisheries and NSW Maritime literature.

CHANDLERY: A broad selection of chandlery items are stocked and other items can generally be supplied within 24 hours at competitive prices (call for a quote ... you WILL be surprised!!). - We recently saved a customer over $600 on a toilet and holding tank compared to that of a known "cheap" marine supermarket.

We have in stock most outboard fuel fittings, tanks and lines, anchors, rope, chain, bilge pumps and switches, electrical connectors, stainless and galvanised fasteners and fittings, cleaning products, paints, batteries, spark plugs, filters, fuses, light bulbs, teak products, a range of trailer accessories plus loads more.

Additionally we carry a range of safety gear from PFD's, V-sheets and fire extinguishers to the pea-less whistle.

SECOND HAND EQUIPMENT: Over the years the boatshed has accumulated many pre-loved items off boats. These range from old radios and sounders to the brass fittings and props off original timber putters. Feel free to come and rummage through the collection, you may just find that bit you have been looking for.

As a NSW Police licenced second hand dealer we will happily consider purchasing parts and accessories. All items purchased will however require comprehensive details from the seller as they must be placed on the NSW Police Weblink System.
